Your throws are changing lives
I would like to say thank you to everyone who turned up at Darby and Joan Hall in Bourne for the Throw for Charity darts tournament on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Everybody who attended enjoyed themselves and helped raise £200 for people in Bourne who need it.
I divided the money and donated it as follows.
£50 was donated to help a friend, Lucy Lockett, with travelling costs while her boy undergoes chemotherapy. Connor Colton has set up a GoFundMe page here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ellis-cancer-journey — this is where you can read his story.
A £50 voucher was donated to Richard Lomas-Brown to eat at one of his favourite restaurants. Richard has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and after all the charity work and fundraising he has done for prostate cancer, I feel the least I can do is give him this restaurant voucher so he can take some time out for himself.
The other £100 will go to people in Bourne who need it. I will keep you updated on where the money goes and on future dates for our next Throw for Charity events.
